The Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QHCP), the governmental body established to regulate the practice of healthcare practitioners, hosts the official launch event of Qatar's National Continuous Medical Education and Professional Development (CME/CPD) Program in the evening of 7 March 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha with the presence of senior officials from healthcare sector in Qatar.
The National CME/CPD Program launch event marks the implementation of program mandatory participation policy linked to renewal of licensure for all licensed healthcare practitioners in the State of Qatar. The Program is a significant milestone in building a world class healthcare workforce for the people in Qatar in accordance with the human development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and National Health Strategy.
The National CME/CPD Program is unique in bringing all healthcare practitioners under a single regulatory authority and has similar credit requirements for all licensed healthcare practitioners for renewal of their licensure (Maintenance of Licensure).
The event will feature a panel discussion titled "More Knowledge, Better Patient Care" with the participation of a number of Qatar's healthcare sector senior officials in addition to experts from The Canadian International College.
A full-fledged media and communications campaign was implemented to promote public awareness of the National CME/CPD Program.
