The Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners, Accreditation Department hosted recently the International Academy for CPD Accreditation annual meeting at QNCC. The meeting was held for the first time in Middle East.
Dr. Samar Aboulsoud, A/Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) who is a member of the academy led the discussion during the meeting.
Many important topics were discussed, the key theme was increased collaborations in international CME/CPD, completion of academy projects in regards to the collaborations and substantial equivalency for recognition of CPD systems. The agenda also included the reinforcement of the need for self-regulation and commitment to shared goal of improving patient care by providing high quality educational activities to healthcare practitioners. The academy is working towards achieving globalization of standards of CME/CPD accreditation systems. The meeting timing took into consideration the implementation plan of National CME/CPD accreditation system and framework for State of Qatar requiring mandatory CPD participation for all healthcare practitioners for renewal of licensure starting March 2016.
It is worth mentioning that leaders of CPD accreditation systems from 14 different countries including Qatar are members of the academy.
