The Registration and Licensing Section regulates healthcare practitioners who wish to work in the State of Qatar. The objective is to upgrade the level of targeted healthcare services in order to maintain the health quality of residents in the State of Qatar, and to adopt unified policies approved by DHP, regardless of the certificate's origin or the applicant's home country.

The section ​​​consists of different teams, each​ working on one of the following professions:

  • ​Physicians

  • Dentists

  • Nurses

  • Pharmacists​

  • Allied Healthcare Practitioners​​​

​Responsibilities
  • Registration and licensing of all healthcare professions.

  • Issuing licenses to practitioners who meet the specified conditions, experiences, and competencies in different specializations as per the policies and laws regulating healthcare practice in addition to the renewal and withdrawal of licenses.

  • Verifying academic certificates and practical experience in addition to other documents required for the license.

  • Evaluating and equivalency of academic certificates in different healthcare professions according to international academic standards.

  • Issuing certificates of good standing for licensed practitioners in the State of Qatar.

  • Approving surgical privileges for the physician and dentist professions as per the approved policies and procedures.

  • Collecting and developing statistics on manpower in the healthcare sector and providing them to specialized departments.

  • Preparing a register of licensed healthcare practitioners in the healthcare sector.​
